The album is a retrospective of the more honest and better-recorded music i made during this time;
I see it as the compilation at end of an era.. The Chamber’ was the only full piece of music i ever recorded on my beloved piano- a collard and collard- that i had since i was 5, and it got dismantled and broken and damaged in 2021, resulting in my mother’s tears and my own aching heart. it was itself a century or more old, and it had served me well.
Thereafter I moved to where the Hidden Folk set sail for their eternal lands
……and also became acquainted with a sage, correspondent and inspiration: Mrs Devlin and her family, of Lough Neagh in Ireland, who helped me find my own mungrelled roots and examine my own circumstances, culturally and musically:
All this was then culminating in my album ‘the harvest cart’.
